We are very glad to inform that Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre has completed 22 years of its glorious journey and is stepping towards its Silver Jubilee. Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre is an organization which has been working uninterruptedly towards one of the most vulnerable section of the society. For which we are always grateful to all our partners, helping hands and well wishers. We are also thankful to those organizations which have continuously supported Mrinaljyoti from its infancy.
The last year was unpredictable and a difficult period because of the Covid-19 pandemic, for the first time we were compelled to minimize or stop some of our regular activities. Our day to day activities were mostly related with the therapeutic intervention of special children which compels us of close contact with the children and their family. Hence our organization remained closed to any activity which would risk the beneficiaries for a period of more than 10 months.
During this period, to continue our services we have adopted the online and telephonic mode to guide the parents and the family members and keep a constant check on the development of the beneficiary. We were so committed to reach every parents/beneficiary that in some cases we have supported the families by supplying smart phones so that no one is left behind.
During this period we also distributed medicine and Dry ration packets, sanitizing items, and need based requirements to our beneficiaries and others who needed it.
As soon as the situation improved, our staff began home visits (following Government SOP) to make effective home based rehabilitation plans for the children and offer guidance to the parents and family members.
The unusual situation also hampered fund raising from well wishers. Due to the Amendment of the Foreign Contributing (Regulation) Act 2010, foreign funders found it difficult to support us.
Yet we are very much hopeful that in coming day we will be able to overcome all the hurdles with the growing support and good will of our society and march ahead.
Lastly I convey my heartfelt thanks to the executive members of the organization, well- wishers, Various Govt. and non Govt. organizations, volunteers and the entire staff of MRC for their continuous support and co-operation.
