Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre, one of the prior organization working for persons with disabilities in Assam, has celebrated the Internation Day for Persons with Disabilities on 3rd, December 2017 with day long activities at Duliajan Club Auditorium, Duliajan. The theme of celebration for this year was" Transformation towards sustainable Society". The celebration began with the hoisting of flag of Mrinaljyoti in the morning by Mrs. Amiya Pathak Borpujari, Secretary cum Principal of the Centre.
To bring more awareness on disability related issues and about the day Mrinaljyoti distributed badges and book marts among thousands of children of the schools of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia District. This year in association of Club'87, Duliajan, Mrinaljyoti organized an art, slogan and poster writing competition on the day at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan, where more than 6 hundred children from the locality participated. An exhibition of art and crafts and food items made by children of the centre was put up which was inaugurated by Mrs. Lakhimi Phukan.
The most awaited and interesting part was that the evening of the day when a cultural program was held and spectators were spell bounded by the performance of various cultural activities by the children of Mrinaljyoti and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dulajan. Issue No: IV, Vol. 2 of "DARPAN", the six monthly journal of Mrinaljyoti was iaugurated in the evening also. Mr. Anil Chandra Patowari, ED, Oil India Limited, Duliajan was present in the evening as the chief guest.
